Title: An Integrated Strategy for Student Service Delivery to Enhance the First Year Experience
John Carlson and Joanna Scarborough
Abstract
AUT has committed to a fully integrated model of student service delivery.
This allows a more holistic approach to the support and success of students
both academically and personally. All student support activities and student
administration have been brought together as a “Student Services Group”
to facilitate a comprehensive and seamless delivery. Services are provided in
partnership with the Faculty which links academic administration to other support
centres. A pilot has been set up in the Health Faculty with essential staff
co-located to a combined service centre. All services are then linked through
ARION, the University’s in-house Student Administration System. ARION
is designed to track all student activity, allowing for informed monitoring
and intervention strategies. Intervention becomes a continuos cycle from the
point of course application to final exam and re-enrolment.
