Sonia Ryan, Aaron Marsham and Eril McNamara

The UQ Union and the Gatton Student Association (GSA) has as their core function student support and representation. They have taken an active role in developing procedures and supporting University initiatives that aim to break down social isolation for students. Discussion will focus on the implementation of these initiatives and resolution of the issues arising. These include: maintaining balance and equity in the distribution of resources; using inclusive approaches for commuter and remote students; gaining student involvement; and dealing with conflicting agendas between meeting social and academic needs.
